Since its introduction, the revolutionary VersaUV LEF series has opened up new creative possibilities, enabling direct printing on an endless variety of substrates and three-dimensional objects. Now we have taken this technology to the next level. In addition to expanding the print area to 508 mm width by 330 mm in length, we have introduced a powerful new UV-LED lamp which dramatically increases productivity and overall performance. With the LEF-20, small-lot printing on demand is now easier than ever to achieve. You can print directly on products and their prototypes, souvenirs, novelty goods, industrial parts, and even consumer electronics items. To further increase your profits, the LEF-20 features a unique ink configuration that includes high-quality full-color printing, plus white and clear inks for premium special effects.
The LEF-20 features a significantly expanded print area that is approximately twice that of our previous model,* allowing you to print directly on objects up to 508 mm width, 330 mm length, and 100 mm in height. At 20 inches wide, the LEF-20 combines a new, more powerful UV-LED curing system, advanced ECO-UV ink, and optimized print control technology to bring greater productivity. Twenty built-in media settings are available as presets, allowing you to instantly select just the right settings for your most popular jobs.
Because the integrated UV-LED lamp instantly cure ink during printing, the LEF-20 can print directly onto materials such as PET, ABS, polycarbonate and TPU, as well as soft materials such as leathers and fabrics. Roland Intelligent Pass Control, our advanced printing technology, enables exceptionally smooth gradations and solid colors with virtually no banding in all print modes to deliver outstanding image quality with sharp images and text.
The LEF-20 comes equipped with VersaUV's proprietary clear (gloss) ink. This ink allows the LEF-20 to produce premium quality prints with gloss and matte finishes, as well as three-dimensional prints with multiple layers of clear ink. The LEF-20 offers 72 ready-to-use texture patterns, all of which are easy to incorporate into a design. With just one click you can create high-value exquisite, appealing and unique effects for your customers.
The LEF-20 is compatible with ECO-UV high-density white ink in addition to full four-color CMYK inks and clear varnish. For jobs involving transparent or dark colored materials, the LEF-20 features advance ECO-UV high-density white ink which delivers exceptional brightness, density, and opacity.
With 3D items placed on the flat table, once the automatic height adjusting function has been selected, the LEF-20 starts to adjust the position by moving the flat table back and forth until its surface reaches the height most suitable for operation. This function also helps to maintain the production of quality prints due to automatic adjustment of the distance between the print-head and the material surface.
Equipped with long-life LED UV-curing lamp, the LEF-20 requires no warm-up time, making it efficient to use and cool to touch. Moreover, the LEF-20 features an enclosed airtight cover to protect the operator from UV light during operation and prevent dust falling on the surface of materials whilst printing.
The LEF-20 features an ink mist adsorbing system by which air-borne ink mist inside the printer is collected for removal. The system works by employing a fan installed around the print-head, that blow any ink mist into an adsorbing filter. This system is valuable to maintain consistent printing operation.
Across a wide variety of applications and media, Roland Intelligent Pass Control technology delivers outstanding image quality in all print modes while eliminating virtually any signs of banding. This patent-pending system ensures that graphics look great when viewed indoors or outdoors, up close and at a distance.
The VersaUV series comes with Roland DG's unique, automated ink circulation system that prevents the pigment in white ink from settling. This system automatically reduces waste of white ink, lowers running costs, produces exceptional image quality, and ensures consistent white density throughout the longest production runs.
